Sione Houma commits to Michigan

Michigan got a commitment from Utah FB Sione Houma on Monday. I totally forgot to give him his commitment post. Yikes. Houma is a 2-star recruit to Scout.com and unranked to everyone else. He had offers from Utah, Utah State, Washington, and Michigan. He chose Michigan.
There isn’t much out there on him at this point. He rushed for 1,211 yards and 9 TDs as a junior. He is only 6’0’’ and 210 pounds, so he needs to put on weight to play fullback. Don’t worry about his ranking, since fullbacks, punters/kickers, and centers are always under rated in high school. He was obviously a player Hoke wanted, and with limited spots for guys like Wormley and the DTs, he was deemed worthy of a roster spot.
Congrats Sione, and Go Blue!

Kyle Kalis commits to Michigan

Number 19 has been a not so secretive, secret for a few weeks now. He is also a beast. He is Lakewood, OH OT Kyle Kalis. He is a huge get. He was originally committed to Ohio State, but didn’t want to deal with their shenanigans. Who would?

Kalis is rated as the #4 OT and 18th best player in the country by Rivals.com, and the highest ranked 4-star. Scout has him as a 5-star, #4OT and #18 player overall. ESPN has him number 140 overall, which is why nobody listens to ESPN when it comes to recruiting. This makes him Michigan’s highest rated recruit.

Kalis joins Erik Magnuson, Blake Bars, Ben Braden, Caleb Stacey, and possible AJ Williams to form an incredible OL class. And Jordan Diamond is still out there. Wow.

Congrats Kyle, and Go Blue!

Jarrod Wilson commits to Michigan

Lucky number 18 came on Friday afternoon when Akron, Oh S Jarrod Wilson gave his pledge to coach Hoke. Wilson is a 6’2’’ 190 lb. safety from Buchtel HS. Buchtel is coached by former Michigan RB Ricky Powers. I’m guessing his coach told Jarrod how great Michigan is. Another Buchtel player, WR Corey Smith has committed to Tennessee, so Coach Powers isn’t just sending his players to Ann Arbor.

Wilson is rated as a 4-star to both sites, and the number 10 safety to Scout.com, and the number 13 to Rivals. He had a final three of Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State. He also held offers from Stanford, UCLA, Tennessee, and Michigan State.

He becomes the second safety in the class, joining Allen Gant. This also confirms that S Jeremy Clark will be  a greyshirt. I will have more on him next week. There are still some big fish circling the boat, and there could be news as soon as this weekend. I will be at a wedding this evening, so I will do my best.

Congrats Jarrod, and Go Blue!
