Ondre Pipkins commits to Michigan

Michigan filled one of the few remaining needs when it picked up DT Ondre Pipkins from Park Hill high school in Kansas City, MO. Pipkins is a 4-star prospect ot 3/4 services. Scout has him as the number 12 DT and 102 player overall. Rivals has him ranked 19th at his position, and 246 overall. 24/7 is somewhere between the 2, while ESPN is the dramatic outlier.

Pipkins pledged to Michigan while spurning such schools as Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, and Ohio State. He is a mountain of a young man at 6'3'' 320 pounds. He can move as well as any defensive line recruit in this class, so he's more than a space eater. He should be able to get to the quarterback.

There should be room for one more DT in this class, and most assume it will be Flint Powers Catholic
's Danny O'Brien. We'll see. Other needs ar at WR and RB, with another top notch CB and OL a nice addition.

Congrats Ondre, and Go Blue!

Chris Wormley commits to Michigan

Michigan continued its impressive recruiting cycle, picking up Toledo, OH’s Chris Wormley from Whitmer High School. He has been considered a Michigan lean for quite some time, and he made it official at the Big House Bar B Que on Sunday. He is an impressive 6’4’’ 255 pound strong side DE. He becomes the 5th defensive lineman in this class.

Wormley is a 4-star to every site but Rivals, who list him as a 3-star. I’m guessing he is close to 4 stars, since he is listed as the 22nd DE. He picked Michigan over offers from Ohio State, Michigan State, and Cincinnati. He was long considered a lock to OSU or Michigan, so that may explain his lack of other offers.

He also has the potential to move inside and play DT down the line, if the need arises. He is that big and strong already. He can be a big time talent, and has the potential to be the best defensive player in this class. Yes, he’s that good.

Congrats Chris, and Go Blue!
